Pittsburgh Play Party Partners (4P) #1 Proposal (draft 2.0)

Who Wants to Party!!!

It has been far too long! Join us in this exciting community building experiment. We’re looking for 100 kinky Pittsburghers to support and share some of the work of putting on a BDSM play party. The event is expected to be held on a Saturday in January 2011.

We want a "top shelf" event. You deserve it!

Importantly, we are looking for your thoughts on what would make this special for you. Please post your ideas on our group page or share them via fetmail with DomLite and SirSamIam. We want an event that just knocks everyone's socks off … so we need to know what type of socks you're wearing!

Our affairs will be conducted “above board.” All local authorities will be consulted (like public health, public safety, and occupancy) and we will comply with all their requirements.

We are considering different ways of funding the event:

1) Straight Advance Purchase Registration. That’s simple enough.

2) An innovation never tried before. This is a variation of the Single-purpose Limited Partnership concept.  Instead of buying an admission ticket, people buy a “participation unit,” for about the same price.  The novel part is that after the party, we tally it all up and rebate back any surplus pro-rata to the participants.  The “partnership” is then dissolved.

The second method is more consistent with our motivation to bring back public play events to Pittsburgh while building a broad-based, actively involved, community. It also reflects our desire that the event is a stand alone. The process can be repeated, or not, as demand determines.

The “partnership method” can be done with, or without, a “guesting power” feature (essentially a 2 for 1 ticket) which, in theory, would promote greater interaction within the community, but would be double the price. We expect to be able to produce the event for about $25 to $30 per person ($50 to $60 per 2fer ticket) assuming we can get close to our goal of 100 people attending.

Either method would be in advance only, no at-the-door sales would be allowed.

Some combination of the two above methods is also possible. Let us know your thoughts.

Volunteers will be needed. We will need help in set-up, tear-down, cleaning, registration, play space monitoring, managing the social area, and on and on.

Reserving a large event site is something done well in advance (ever try to book a place for a wedding reception?). We need an early indication of interest to determine if enough people would attend.  Please email  sirsamiam@aol.com to indicate interest.

We are totally charged up about this event … hope you are too!
